Looking for easy healthy shakes, soups, and smoothies? You’ve no doubt heard of the NutriBullet…
This Nutribullet Review answers “Is the Nutribullet Worth it?”.

Is the NutriBullet Worth It Anymore? And Is the NutriBullet Pro 900 Any Good?

Over recent years, the NutriBullet has become a go-to appliance for those seeking a healthier diet and lifestyle. The NutriBullet Pro (also the ‘900 Series’) was released in 2019, replacing the original NutriBullet 600.

This one was designed as a step up for the more active person in you.

It can also be used in cooking, such as to substitute a grinder, create nut butters, marinades, and more (we’ll see later).

But, there remains the question for some: “Is the NutriBullet Worth It?”

But no longer is the NutriBullet the main blender on the market… Since its launch, there have been Ninja Blenders, Lakeland, and so many more brands.

In this product review of the NutriBullet Pro 900 Series (NB9-1301), we are going to uncover at the pros and the cons to see if this is the right blender for you.

A NutriBullet Pro Review – Does it Live up to its Name?

  • Overall Rating: 9/10
  • Price: $89.98 – $109.99 (colour dependant)
  • Best Place to Purchase: Amazon.com
  • Customer Reviews: Very Positive (4.7 / 5 Stars)
  • Guarantee: NutriBullet 1 Year Limited Warranty, Amazon Return Policy
  • Material: BPA-free Plastic, Stainless Steel

What Is the NutriBullet Pro / 900 Series?

The NutriBullet Pro / 900 Series is the first “upgrade” in the NutriBullet collection, released in 2019. It offers a more powerful 900W motor and better versatility than the original 600 Series.

The full 13-piece set (view here) features:

  • Two 32. oz cups;
  • A versatile blade;
  • A powerful 900W motor;
  • Two lip rings;
  • Two lip rings with handles;
  • Two sealed lids for fresh storage;
  • Two resealable sipping lids for on-the-go;
  • (And a bonus recipe book thrown in);

In short, it’s a very handy kitchen appliance.

As the NutriBullet brand grew, this initial upgraded model was a driving blender in the market.

If you need something easy to use, store, and clean, whether you’re out and about, at the gym, or chilling in the sun, then you’re exactly who this was made for!

What Else Is It for?

With just some fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, liquids, herbs, spices, you name it, your options are endless! Some of its uses include:

  • Smoothies / Shakes
  • Juices
  • Soups
  • Pesto
  • (Nut) Butter
  • Nut milk
  • Flour
  • Hummus and other marinades
  • (We’ll see even more later)

As per the company mission, the NutriBullet makes living and eating healthier that much easier.

In fact, when I first started using my original 600 Series, I was making a pineapple, ginger, and turmeric juice daily. I done this for the anti-inflammatory properties, but there are limitless possibilities to suit your goals.

For those who like to home-make their own ingredients, a NutriBullet is also a superb choice. The simple process of “fill it up, switch it on, and enjoy the result”, allows you to create a wide array of foods, not just including those above.

Apart from saving time and labour, it is designed for versatility.

However, it’s not alone. There are many blenders out there, and certainly some great options.

Is the Pro Series still relevant? And even more, is the NutriBullet worth it?

PROS – Why it Might Just Be for You

You Want to Save Time and Still Eat Healthy

The standard recommendation is that we get at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day. The truth is that we should aim for more, and focus on the vegetables for nutrient-density and less sugar.

With a NutriBullet, these servings are no sweat. This is one of the main benefits of having a blender of any type.

Maybe you’re looking to lose weight? Or you’re time-short, but ready to cut out ready meals and up your plant intake? Or maybe you just want to spend less time in the kitchen?

A few minutes each day is all you need, and the Pro Series has extra time-saving benefits:

  • Powerful 900W motor for quick results;
  • Cyclonic blade action for the tougher ingredients;
  • Durable materials made to last;
  • Easy clean up and storage.

Furthermore, it’s a brilliant way to make natural protein shakes for those looking to fuel their day or build themselves up!

You can get many of your daily nutrients in one serving this way. A blender extracts nutrition extremely well, and will also help you absorb them better. This is partially due to the liquids being easier to digest.

How It Works:

First of all, it frees up your eating habits, especially if you:

  • Don’t find the time to chop up a salad.
  • Find yourself buying unhealthy high-sugar smoothies and milkshakes (on-the-go).
  • End up using chemical-packed protein powders (There are foods for that, too)!

As the most common example, here’s how to make your own shakes and smoothies:

  1. Add your favourite healthy ingredients, some ice, and a little milk (or substitute) to the cup.
  2. Screw on the blade cap and slot into the blender.
  3. Switch on your NutriBullet Pro / 900 Series for about a minute or until the desired texture is reached.
  4. Take it out, store it, serve it, and enjoy!
    • Use the sipping lids for fresh storage or when on-the-go;
    • Use the handle lip rings to pour into your fanciest serving glasses (this makes guests think it was all that much more elaborate, whilst it was actually easy).

You can mix in a wide variety of blends. Dark chocolate, peanuts, kale, oats, and whatever else you fancy! (Remember to stick to whole foods, and avoid using high-sugar fruits often).

A Healthy Avocado Smoothie Recipe - Enjoy a Healthy Summer Healthy Ronin

Oh, and I even recently made a nice and simple nutty avocado smoothie (recipe here).

Don’t miss out on the many easy smoothie recipes online, either. There are countless out there, catering for high-protein, ketogenic, paleo, and more dietary preferences.

Now, is the NutriBullet worth it for YOUR diet?

On a personal level, only your own health goals and food preferences matter in answering this. The endless possibilities of convenient on-the-go protein shakes, for example, could be great for gym-goers. At the same time, if you’re looking to lose weight and prefer light meals, balanced smoothies as “meal replacements” could be an incredible tool in your journey and make for a wonderful range of flavourful and easy-to-make breakfasts, lunches, or dinners.

At the same time, if you’re a lover of home cooking and like the thought of being able to make your own spice blends, ground nuts and seeds, salad dressings, sauces like guacamole or fermented chilli sauce, and so on… Then yes, the NutriBullet could well be worth the investment (as it has been for me in these ways). Hint: See the next ‘PRO’ below!

Side note: If you’re looking to build muscle – as I was previously – making whole milk smoothies with cacao, possibly protein powder, and even a banana or some other fruit, can be a useful way to quickly replenish glycogen and get in protein after your resistance training sessions.

Let’s see just what else you could do with the Pro Series at your side…

You Want a Permanent Sous Chef (Almost)

No doubt, this NutriBullet can carry out many tasks in the kitchen. This includes making anything from:

  • Juices
  • Nut milks
  • Nut butters
  • Flours
  • Sauces
  • Soups
  • Spice Blends
  • Slaws
  • Salads
  • Salad Dressings
  • Grated / Shredded cheese
  • Pestos
  • Pastes
  • Marinades
  • And more!

I have personally used my blender in many different ways. As said above, I use to make my “anti-inflammatory juice” daily. I’ve also used it to make almond milk and smoothies.

Once, it even made an effective oat base for a Christmas pumpkin pie! (The NutriBullet 600 struggled to keep up here due to the thickness. That’s where the Pro 900 Series could have really made the difference)!

Looking at the overall ability of the blender, we should also address its durability as a kitchen appliance.

In any case, the Pro Series is a good bet if you want something to last.

With proper care and the right treatment, it should last you a while.

You Don’t Want to Break the Bank

At a price coming in under $80, the NutriBullet Pro 900 is certainly a less costly option.

Other similar blenders may go for upwards of $100-200! They may offer extra power or cup sizes, but for those who don’t need anything specialised and just want to need that kick-start to a healthier lifestyle, this model is ideal.

Really, the NutriBullet Pro / 900 Series is simple. And that’s a good thing.

Coming from one of the most trusted blender vendors (Get it? Because “blender”, and “vendor”… Alright, I’ll stop.) means you won’t be disappointed.

So, a cheap price doesn’t always mean cheap quality. And as the Customer Reviews would reveal, it has certainly been worth the price for many.

So is this the top-of-the-market futuristic super blender? No.

Is it simple, effective, and affordable? Yes.

When answering “Is The NutriBullet Worth It?”, price has to come into it. And honestly, there isn’t room for complaint!

You Like the “No Mess, No Fuss” Lifestyle

This one is a favourite. We all hate doing the dishes (well, most of us), and we all like saving time.

For almost any purpose that the NutriBullet is used, it simply requires a quick rinse out with warm water and it can be put away ready for next time!

It’s a “use, rinse, put it back” scenario for the most part.

This beats having to use all different cutlery, or chopping boards, or pestle and mortars, etc. and having to then wash them all up.

Instead, there is an elegant convenience provided by using a single appliance which works with only a few pieces (including if you want to store your ingredients or recipes).

P.S. If you really are a fan “no mess, no fuss”, why not go all-in? There’s nothing better than a handy slow cooker for delectable, nutritious, and easy-to-make and clean up after meals!

You Cook in Style

Not everyone wants a plain black or greyed-out blender on their countertop.

In fact, I know many of our Healthy Ronin readers (you awesome people) like to try new things and keep cooking exciting!

The NutriBullet Pro comes in 11 different colours! I’m torn between the “Champagne” and “Clover” personally, but a popular and vibrant finish is “Berry” (below).

As you can see, the colours change the price slightly.

There aren’t major price differences, so whether you’re all about colour or prefer the classic tones, having a more personal appliance is a decent upside to this blender!

Freebies, Anyone?

So this one is just a little bonus, but I thought it was worth including anyway. When you buy the NutriBullet Pro, you’ll also receive a pocket guide with recipes and the user manual.

It gives full instructions and useful recipe examples to make things easy.

Keep in mind to avoid high-sugar recipes though – including those with a lot of fruit. Do this especially if you plan to make the same thing regularly.

I also want you to know that you can buy additional blades and cup sizes. This includes blades specifically for milling, and cups with handles.

CONS – What Should You Consider?

The Pro Series Isn’t Design for Hot Food

Like most blenders, the Pro Series is designed to function for general use, even with its USP’s. That means you should not use hot ingredients if you want it to last!

“But, didn’t you say that the Pro Series can make soups?”

Yes, but the only catch is you’ll need to use cool ingredients. What many do is boil their ingredients as you would, then let it cool and blend.

This works best with batch meals, so you can simply reheat a serving when you fancy it!

The NutriBullet brand has risen to the challenge, however. If you’re looking for heated blending, the Smart, Heat-friendly 1700 Watt Rx Series is worth considering.

It features a 7-minute heat cycle, allowing you to cook up a soup using just one appliance!

So, in terms of versatility: Is the NutriBullet worth it? Indeed it is – the Pro Series is excellent and affordable for general use, but there are also advanced options available.

There’s No Speed / Pulse Control

Whilst it is a blender (not a food processor), having a pulse option or some sort of speed control would be even better.

For example, you may want to make a “chunky” nut butter, or maybe just lightly blend up a salad mix.

Having only the 900W motor to go by on full speed means you’ll have to time it more carefully.

It’s of course still possible to customise the consistency you’re looking for – just vary the blending time or ingredients. However, when you need precision, a food processor or speed-controlled blender is the way to go.

Fortunately, there’s a NutriBullet for that, too! (Yes, they really do come prepared). That would be the 1200 Watt NutriBullet Blender Combo, designed for enhanced versatility and named “combo” because it’s a bit more than just a blender!

This one offers multiple speeds and a pulse option. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, then take a look with the link above.

So, the day-by-day active fitness freak or health nut likely needs not worry.

But if you’re a more detailed chef looking for that little extra, the NutriBullet Pro Series might not meet all of your needs.

Conclusion – Summary and Overall Verdict!

To summarise this NutriBullet Pro Review, not only is the blender a great way to eat (or drink) healthily, but it is also cheap and effective. It gets the job done for those who like things simple!

It’s a step up from the less powerful 600 Series, and provides excellent support in the kitchen.

Customer satisfaction is certainly high, but there are more advanced versions for those interested.

Despite the 2019 model not being the most powerful or versatile of all blenders, it is nonetheless robust, quick to use and clean, and saves a good amount of hassle for anyone seeking that extra boost to their healthy eating efforts!

The big pros are that it does its job well, provides high value, and is ideal for most blending purposes.

The cons are that it isn’t suitable for hot foods, and isn’t designed for specialist blending and processing.

All in all, to rate below a 9/10 wouldn’t feel fair to me. In conclusion, it provides impressive value for the price, making it a great recommendation for any healthy kitchen.

Product Rating 9 Review

This rating also agrees with the 4.4 / 5 stars given on Amazon, so it’s probably fair to say I’m not far off!

So, Is the NutriBullet Worth It?

Only you can decide! But if you ask me, it’s a no-brainer for anyone who values their time and health and wants to get the most of both.

To be fair, it often is better to give things a try – you’ve got a handy 30-day Amazon Returns Guarantee, remember?

Free US Delivery, Amazon’s Choice

It might not be the model for everyone – so consider looking at multiple options like those above.

Still on the fence? Need a 3rd, 4th, or 3,800th (+) opinion? Why not take a look at the reviews yourself? Though they are very positive, people also helpfully cover a couple of problems that they’ve had.

I hope I’ve helped you learn about this blender, and discover whether it’s for you or not. So with your newfound knowledge, get out there and have confidence in whatever choice you make! 🙂
